Poem: Consumerism

Be a consumer

Consume the sound of the wind brushing your ear

Consume the warmth of the sun kissing your skin

Consume the view across a landscape, over the sea

The cold water as your foot comes in relation with a mountain stream

Consume the smell of the forest floor

The taste of tomatoes you grew yourself

Consume the extended gaze of a loved one

The words of a child

Consume a sunset through cloud, the moon on a hazy night, the burning autumn forest leaf, the glow of the fire as you sit with friends, the sounds of your songs and the wisdom hiding in stories

Be consumed by all that is beautiful in the world.
